The Gillette Company

The Gillette Company, a new sponsor of NPCC in 2004, will feature prostate cancer information in Mach3 razor packs and on coupons for Gillette products. Gillette also sponsors the NASCAR Young Guns Consumer Challenge where NPCC is the charitable partner. The Young Guns are Kurt Busch, Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth, Kevin Harvick, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. A donation will be made to NPCC in the name of the highest finishing Young Gun at 36 NASCAR Nextel Cup races, and race fans can make a donation to the fight against prostate cancer at Gillette grooming stations.

Major League Baseball

In partnership with the National Prostate Cancer Coalition, Major League Baseball’s “Take a Swing Against Prostate Cancer” educates countless baseball fans about the risks of prostate cancer. The campaign includes spokesmen Lou Pinella and Ozzie Smith as well as blue ribbons on the field at the All-Star Game and the World Series.

One of the world’s largest manufacturers of recreation vehicles, Thor Industries has constructed and maintained the Drive Against Prostate Cancer, the nation’s only mobile prostate cancer screening clinic. Over 25,000 men have been screened for free during the last three years.

Program Partners

As part of its “Good Neighbor, Good Citizen” Program, DaimlerChrysler (DC) has joined forces with the National Prostate Cancer Coalition to save lives from the second deadliest cancer among American men. DC sponsors the Drive Against Prostate Cancer in an effort to reach out to minorities in Washington DC – the city with the highest occurance of prostate cancer in the nation. DC has also included the Drive Against Prostate Cancer into its human resources division encouraging all of its workers to be screened annually for prostate cancer.

Northrop Grumman, concerned that Washington, DC, has the highest rate of prostate cancer in the country, sponsors the Drive Against Prostate Cancer to screen District men.

Richard Childress Racing

Richard Childress Racing, NASCAR’s leading stockcar team, is a 2003 sponsor of the Drive Against Prostate Cancer by supporting free screenings at various NASCAR races and placing Drive Against Prostate Cancer logos on stock cars.

AstraZeneca is the National Prostate Cancer Coalition’s leading partner in advocacy training, teaching those who care about prostate cancer to be well-informed community leaders and lobbyists for increases in prostate cancer research funding

One of the National Prostate Cancer Coalition’s first sponsors, Pfizer continues to offer support for advocacy initiatives such the organization’s spring training days – aimed at lobbying Congress for increases in prostate cancer research funding.

In an effort to put prostate cancer on ice, NPCC has teamed up with the National Hockey League in 2004 to spread awareness about prostate cancer as part of the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer program. Early detection information will be distributed during this year’s NHL All-Star Festivities in Minneapolis.

Dedicated to educating America about prostate cancer, Microsoft has helped outfit the NPCC and the Drive Against Prostate Cancer with computer equipment and software. Microsoft also participates in helping NPCC through its employee charity program.

Employee Charity Drive Program Partners

With Dell’s employee charity matching drive, donations have been leveraged into $20,000 for prostate cancer research in 2003.

NPCC is proud to be included as part of Exxon Mobil’s extensive annual employee charity drive every holiday season. Donations raised from Exxon employees contributions are leveraged into over $1 million for prostate cancer research.

With Hewlett-Packard’s employee charity matching drive, donations to NPCC was leveraged into over $200,000 for research in 2003.

Part of Macy’s employee charity drive, donations raised from the department store giant is leveraged into $250,000 for research.
